FLEURETTE
A cup and saucer for natural coffee drinking.
Morning coffee always brought my family together. It was natural. Every morning my father would brew exactly 4 cups of coffee, and my family would sip on our coffee together in bliss.
Coffee drinking connected us. When we went on vacation, we looked for matching sets of 4 cups, and used them for our morning coffee. My favorite set is 4 white cups with different colored dotted flowers on the side.
Drawing inspiration from these childhood experiences, Fleurette is an ergonomic cup and saucer that is capable of many orientations, but is grounded in its floral appearance.
Fleurette has a simple and sturdy assembly, allowing users to choose how the cup interacts with the saucer in a way that makes the pair easy to hold, carry, and store.
Fleurette has a cohesive design. All of Fleurette’s geometries stem from the dodecahedron, embracing the simplicity of the pentagon, and approaching a natural form through Euclidean geometries.
Project is approximately 5” long, 5” wide, and 8” tall. Project was being designed and manufactured individually. Materials used include: museum board, and glue.
